Welcome to the EvoLudo tutorials
The VirtualLabs are a growing collection of interactive tutorials that complement numerous research articles. Not only do they allow to verify the reported results and to get a better intuitive understanding of the often complex evolutionary dynamics but they also encourage further explorations in the fascinating and often mesmerizing world of spatio-temporal patterns.
Getting started
Featured content

The VirtualLabs are developed and maintained by Christoph Hauert and were originally inspired by Karl Sigmund while Christoph was working as a post-doctoral research fellow under his supervision (2000-2002)[1]. Over the years numerous publications in high profile research journals appeared based on the simulation engine of the VirtualLabs.

In 2008 Christoph Hauert joined the faculty of the Mathematics Department at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada. This change triggered a thorough reconsideration of theVirtualLabs and it seems timely and appropriate to work towards converting the VirtualLabs into a communal project in the form of a wiki.

This is an ambitious project and help is always welcome. For registered users it is also possible to add their own pages as long as they fall into the broad context of evolutionary dynamics and game theory.

  1. Ever since their initial installment in 2002, they are available at http://www.univie.ac.at/virtuallabs.
